Bath Gamma Garden Club members participate in
  • monthly meetings,
  • an annual picnic and
  • an annual holiday party.

An exciting schedule of field trips makes it easy and fun to visit gardens throughout Northeast Ohio.

Our volunteer projects include planning, installing and maintaining four public gardens.

We support our community by providing an annual free public seminar, writing monthly articles for the Bath Country Journal, and participating in the Home and Garden Tour at Hale Farm and Village, and Fall into Nature.

Creating and Caring for Public Gardens

Bath Gamma Garden Club is responsible for several garden sites throughout Bath Township. Our biggest project involves planting and maintaining the herb gardens by the Salt Box House at Hale Farm & Village. We start in the early spring, cleaning out the beds and adding more herbs that would have been used back in the 1830s.

The club also created our 50th Anniversary Garden near the Bath Baseball Fields. The perennial and annual plants all provide splashes of gold throughout the season. We also plant and maintain several smaller gardens throughout our area, thus beautifying the Administration Buildings and the entrances of the cemeteries and the Post Office.

Becoming a River Park: A Story of Renewal in Cuyahoga Valley National Park
Dr. Lisa Petit (Chief of Natural and Cultural Resource Stewardship for Cuyahoga Valley National Park)

Dr. Petit will discuss a transformation of the park in its landscape, its spirit and its future.

Dr. Lisa Petit has been with the National Park Service at Cuyahoga Valley National Park since 2000, first as wildlife biologist and currently as chief of the Natural and Cultural Resource Stewardship Program. Prior to joining the NPS, Petit was a research biologist with the Smithsonian Institution Migratory Bird Center in Washington, DC. Her research focused on impacts of human land use on wildlife ecology, and understanding the role of protected areas in resource conservation. The work of her team in Cuyahoga Valley focuses on broader aspects of restoring and enhancing natural conditions within the 33,000-acre national park to help drive the recovery of the Cuyahoga River watershed.
